The Bartech software enables mini-bar charges to be noted automatically and immediately on the guest folio through an interface between the Bartech computer and Fidelio's  Property Management System. The accurate billing of mini-bar consumption has a direct and positive impact on the service provided to guests as it streamlines the billing process and reduces check-out time.

A Bartech refill report automatically provides a detailed per-room listing of items requiring refill. This minimizes the need for checks by hotel staff to ascertain if mini-bar replenishment is required. As part of the numerous and powerful features, the Bartech system provides an automatic tracking system to control expiration dates thus guaranteeing the freshness of mini-bar items.

A further system enhancement that assists in the reduction of operational costs and provides substantial energy savings is the use of Bartech’s CESS (Computerized Energy Saving System) option. This standard feature automatically monitors the interior temperature level of each mini-bar according to time and room occupancy status. All Bartech automatic mini-bars comply with WEEE, RoHS, ISO, CSA, FCC, and UL requirements. The cost effectiveness achieved helps increase revenue per room and enhances guest satisfaction since the billing process is streamlined.

Bartech Management Software on a PDA
In some huge properties it is critical to rebate a drink on a room-folio or to get the refill report in real time. For such cases, Bartech has developed software that installs on a PDA. The device allows the mini-bar attendant to synchronize rebates with the hotel's Property Management System (instead of posting them manually) and allows refill reports to be viewed directly from the PDA (no more listings on paper to print).

Further, Bartech's remote control features are included in the PDA and can be transferred from any location in the hotel. Another application of this feature is to use it as a Wireless General Information System. For example, if a floor manager discovers that a surveillance video camera needs to be adjusted, he / she can post this request on the PDA and send this information to the appropriate department.

Advantages:

• This feature helps obtain accurate refill reports from the central server in "real time".
• Manual postings and misunderstandings are eliminated.
• Adjustments and synchronization are done by the mini-bar attendant while he / she is standing in the room in front of the e-fridge.

Note: To use this kind of wireless communication, the hotel must be using 802.11b Access Points (used for high speed internet) or if the hotel does not have any wireless access point, the mini-bar attendant will use the usual PDA Cradle to synchronize his / her PDA with the server. Bartech has also the possibility to send information on the PDA through the e-fridge itself.
